Why do women love the movie Pretty Woman?
Are there any women who dislike this movie? What is it about this movie that makes it top the list of best movies for most women?

Best AnswerI actually hate Pretty Woman. I do not like whatever her name is, Julia ( i have too many teeth) Roberts- she's too full of herself. I like what Hugh Grant said about her. "Kissing her was like kissing the Grand Canyon". Ok. I think most women like Pretty Woman because for some reason it's every girl's fantasy. ( I don't know WHY being a hooker would be anyone's fantasy ) but I think most girls feel sorry for the way her character gets treated in the movie, and how she gets everyone back when Richard Gere's character buys her all the clothes she could ever want and even more strange is that the hotel Richard G. stays in, even the MANAGEMENT grow to love her. I mean, she's playing a HO! It's got some of those "Officer & Gentleman" vibes- the rich guy sweeping up the down on her luck hooker. I've never understood this movie and I am 45 years old and I think it's a weird phenomenon.

A. It's not the greatest movie ever, but I like to watch it from time to time. Mostly because of the time it took place and the location. Julia is a good actress.

A. From a man's point of view, I think most women love what the film shows because of the prospect of financial stability most women think first before love. I don't mean women are materialistic but all of us, men and women wants financial freedom and we will do our best to attain it. For the women who love this film, its a kind of inspiration that who ever you are and whatever you do, there is always a chance you'll get lucky. Wishful thinking maybe, but at least the hope is there.
A. I don't know why people like this movie. Its such a ridiculous storyline, I mean come on, the girl is a prostitute. And its just way too ridiculous, no prostitutes look like Julia Roberts. And no guys that look like Richard Gere pick up women like that. Its just too much, even for a movie. I used to like it when I was younger, then really thought about it one day. A prostitute that falls in love, and has a happy ending? Not going to happen! Its just a dumb movie, but people like it because it's got this disney like prostitution thing going on, that sugarcoats the whole bought sex theme, and the actors have good chemistry. It has some funny lines, but the storyline is so dumb.
