The City of Ember is the last surviving underground city that has flourished in the dark due its self-containment and glittering lights powered by an ancient hydro-electric generator. But as the energy source weakens and threatens to fail, two teenagers named Lina and Doon (played by Saoirse Ronan and Harry Treadaway) try to find a way out, discovering more about the city.s secrets in the process.
