First of all I love American Idol. When it comes on , my 3 granddaughters come 2nd, (I love my granddaughters more than anything). I would like to ask a question? Why do all of you constanantly bring up the young ages of the singers. You were on Jordin about being 17 yrs. old. If you all think they are to young to sing then raise their age requirement to 20. If they can sing at 13 ( Tanya Tucker) don't down them on their age. I think you are the best judge. You are fair and honest I like Randy and Paula also.

A. I think Simons the most honest too and I agree, if they are too young, they should raise the age.. but I think they mean they are fantastic but just because of their age, they might need to develop some aspect of their singing more.

A. Age matters for the very same reason you had to let us know you were a grandfather, which has no relevance to your question. Tanya Tucker started singing at 13 and her life turned out to be a mess. Same with Britney Spears. Many talented children are exploited by their parents and the business in general. It's much more than the singing involved here.

A. I think all Simon meant was that Jordin herself has some improvement to make and it isn't surprising, given her age. However, there are other singers who do have it all together and they're very young. It's the individual. As for Simon Cowell, I like him too and I think he's very honest. But so is Randy. Paula is just a sweetheart and likes everybody. I just think that Simon is a little too hard on some of the contestants. He gets a little insulting, and that's not needed. Constructive criticism is the best way to go, but I think Simon gets a little too full of himself at times. But at the same time, he's telling it like it is. I agree, American Idol is a great show.
