Simon Cowell?
I sometimes watch American Idol and notice that Simon Cowell has mostly no facial expression when people perform at the auditions..It makes me wonder what kind of music is Simon Cowell into. Does anyone know?

Best AnswerHis personal taste in music is more of the soft rock type. Just by watching, he'll make comments about certain songs before they are sung (unchained melody, raise me up, etc.) that they are one of his favorite songs. Simon is looking for someone he is going to make money off of. Most people don't seem to realize that the record contract is with his own personal Production Company, so he is going to be critical. Who wants to produce someone, and put millions of dollars behind someone that is simply "average" or cute but "can't carry a tune". Simon does so much more than just American Idol. He produces full time. Look at Il Divo. That's his tenor ensemble and the are incredible. Honestly, he may seem rude, but Simon Cowell is brilliant.

A. simon cowell is the best judge because he is a realist. he tells the auditioners how it is. i think that is the best thing to do he tells them everything whether it's good or bad. every other judge tries to be nice. i think the nice thing is overrated BS. simon cowell should be meaner because if someone really sucks why should the judges be nice? if the judges are nice and say come back next year then it's not helping. the person SUCKS don't come back don't tell them to try again and reject them again the next year. what simon is doing is the right thing telling them like it is. i would do the same thing. i would also say "you are the worst singer in history, you suck, you should sue vocalist teacher if you had one"
A. I don't think he has ever said one kind of music he really likes. I do know that he has said repeatedly that he doesn't like country.
A. Well I heard one of his favourite songs is 'You Raise me Up' by Josh Groban. He also started that boy band 'Il Divo'. So I guess he likes ballads and slow songs. Basically People with good (excellent, unique, different) voices. He used to be the executive producer of 'Westlife'. Do you see the connection between the three artists??

A. Simon Cowell is the type of person who possibly likes classical or oldies. In my opinion, many american idol contestants "murdered" many of Simon's favorite songs as he so puts it!
A. well he will sumtimes say "that is one of my favorite songs"...maybe he just doesn't enjoy the people singing them..bcuz he thinks they ruined the song?? that's my guess
A. I think he's actually a good judge and his means on people are good.Because sometimes a singer sings so badly but they didn't know, or have too much confidence.Simon's retort will genuinly shut them out and let them know their own mistakes.
