Honeydripper stars Danny Glover, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Yaya DaCosta, Charles S. Dutton, Vondie Curis-Hall, and Gary Clark Jr. Honeydripper is set in rural Alabama in 1950 during the cotton harvest. The owner of the Honeydripper Lounge is trying to get the local cotton pickers, and Army men to join his juke joint, and dissuade them from going to the rival lounge in the neighborhood. The owner lines up Guitar Sam to play for one night only, but the famous rock-and-roll performer is a no show. In an attempt to save his business, the HoneFydripper owner finds a criminal kid, and tries to pass him off as Guitar Sam. Honeydripper comes to theaters on April 25, 2008.
